Where is the CPR & Safety Training Center located?
The CPR & Safety Training Center is located between gates 12 and 13 of the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. We are located right next to the student ticket office.
What is the cost of your classes?
We offer a large range of course at the CPR & Safety Training Center, and all of our courses have different prices. For specific prices on courses you can see each individual course under the course tab located on the top menu.
Where can I park?
To avoid citation, everyone who parks a vehicle on campus must follow UF’s parking rules. Parking is restricted on campus, Weekdays during the hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm.
You can find meter parking in the O’Connell Center Parking lot before you reach the parking garage. You may also park at the Welcome Center parking garage located in the Reitz Union, on the corner of Museum Road and Reitz Union Drive. The garage hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Short-term and daily fees apply during this time. The garage may be used during non-operating hours (after 4:30pm) for short-term parking, free of charge.
Parking restriction for most decal areas are lifted at 4:30pm Monday-Friday. There are no parking restrictions in the weekend unless indicated. Please be sure to visit www.parking.ufl.edu for additional information.
How long does the skills check-off for online certification take?
Skills check-offs are approximately 30 minutes long. However, in the case that you may need additional practice time you way want to give yourself extra time in your schedule.
When will I get my certification card?
If you are recertifying online, most of the time you will receive your card immediately following your skills check-off.
If you are taking a course in person it depends on how quickly you will receive your card. If you have decided to have your card mailed, we will do so within one business day of your course completion. If you chose to pick up your certification card it will available at our office after 1 PM the next business day after your have completed the course.
Can I take only part of a combo course?
If for some reason you need to take only one part of a combination course please contact our office at (352) 392-1161 ext. 4283 for further instructions.
Is it possible to reach the office or trainers after-hours?
Unfortunately you are not able to reach us after hours. You can however leave a message on our main line at (352)392-1161 ext 4283 and we will return your call at our earliest convenience on the following business day.
How can I register for a course?
You can register for any course in person by visiting our main office located in Yon Hall RM 266 or via phone at (352) 392-1161 ext. 4283.
What are your hours of Operation?
The CPR & SAFETY Training Center is open for course registration and certification card pick up form 8:00am- 4:00pm Monday through Friday, except for observed University of Florida Holidays.
Does your center teach Infant CPR Only?
Unfortunately we do not teach Infant CPR only. However, you can choose to add the Infant CPR module to any of our CPR Courses.
Do I have any breaks if I take a combination course?
Yes, the number of breaks that you receive throughout the entire course it’s up to the instructor. However, you will receive a lunch break. You can choose to bring your own lunch or go out at buy lunch. Just be sure to return to class at the time assigned by the instructor so you can insure full completion of the course.
How long are the certifications good for?
All courses that are taught through the American Heart Associaiton are good for two years.
If you are getting certified in Lifeguarding (American Red Cross) your certification is good for 3 year with the expection on your CPR portion of your certification which is only good for one year.
SOLO certifications are also good for two years.
How do I know which CPR Course to take?
We understand that there are many different kinds of CPR courses available and not knowing which one is right for you if often a problem. Below you will find the name of the CPR course and the individuals who should take such course.
Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR: Students who are part of the College of Health and Human Performance (except TRSM Majors), those employeed by Rec Sports, individuals who are enrolled in Argriculture Safety Classes, Suba Divers, Fitness Instructors, and any one else who will just like to be certified in CPR.
Heartsaver Adult/Child and Infant CPR: Students majoring in Tourism, Recreations and Sports Managment, College of Pharmancy, Students studying Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and any one who is entering the Law Enforcement Field.
Healthcare Provider: Individuals who fall under the following fields: EMT/Paramedic, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Dentist/Dental Assistant and Physician/Physician Assistant.
Note: FIRST AID is also a requirement for individuals in the following programs: TRSM Majors, Agriculture Safety Classes, and some Rec Sports employees (ask you supervisor if you need it)
