Specific Goals
Goal:
With over 65,000 employees at the University of Florida, the overall goal is to eliminate the fear of acting in the event of an emergency. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone at anytime. The national statistics indicate a national survival rate from SCA of less than 7 percent. An estimated 90 percent of SCA occurs at home or in the work place. It is essential that immediate action take place until pre-hospital care arrives. The early actions by “YOU” the bystander can make a difference.
The immediate goals of the CPR Anytime program are two-fold. One is to offer employees a chance to learn the basic steps of CPR through an instructor facilitated session on campus during a Lunch and Learn workshop. Another is to have kits available for purchase to more departments and individuals throughout campus. The kits can be purchased at the UF CPR office.
Action Plan:
Employees and staff can visit our homepage to view a list of the workshops that will be available throughout the year. The Lunch and Learn series will allow time for practice, Q&A, and most importantly, make participants feel comfortable to know what to do in the event of an emergency. Adult and Infant CPR Anytime kits are also available for individual purchase on at our office.
