The Low-Tech Navigation course is an introductory course in wilderness navigation. This course will take participants back to using nature for direction finding. Throughout the course students will learn the basics of using a compass; but emphasis will be given to using the sun, moon, and stars as a way of directing themselves throughout any wilderness.

This course introduces participants to using baselines (terrain features of length such as rivers, roads, etc.) and checkpoints to find their way through backwoods. Students will learn methods on how to break down long trails into smaller checkpoint in order to regain guidance to their final destination.
