The first responder course presents an exciting opportunity to develop emergency medical skills and knowledge that will enable you to assist people who have sustained an accidental injury or who are suffering from a sudden illness or medical problem. This course follows a national curriculum that was developed by representatives from many federal and state agencies and from professional medical groups. The material you will learn is divided into seven sections, which follow the national standard curriculum.
These Sections are:
- Preparing to Be a First Responder
- Airway
- Patient Assessment
- Circulation
- Illness and Injury
- Childbirth, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics
- EMS Operations
This course is a prerequisite for EMT School. Participants will receive both a textbook and their Healthcare Provider Certification through this course.
