Chances of survival out-of hospital with an automated external defibrillator (AED) are 45%, compared to 20% without and AED. AEDs have been installed in airports, malls, golf courses, and other public places. Heartsaver CPR & AED Training is a combined course designed to teach all lay rescuers CPR, Foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO), and how to use an AED.
